Night of the Proms 2019

Pop meets Classic

Night of the Proms 2019

At the Night of the Proms, a dazzling array of funk, rock, soul and pop sounds lift the roof off the house! On the 2019 tour, Alan Parsons, Al McKay´s Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, Eric Bazilian & Rob Hyman of The Hooters, Leslie Clio, John "Mister Music" Miles and Canadian soprano, Natalie Choquette, are all set to present their greatest hits backed up by a world-class symphony orchestra.

At the Night of the Proms, classical music meets pop, ethereal arias alternate with thumping pop hits, entertainers in suits and leather-clad rockers change places and stiletto-heels strut the stage alternating with Converse sneakers. The versatile Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra (under the capable baton of Brazilian conductor, Alexandra Arriche) will accompany the Fine Fleur Choir as they perform classical works by Brahms, Verdi, Handel and Bach. The next moment they’re accompanying various rock and pop legends, as well as the NOTP-Backbone ‘house band’.

On the 10th Anniversary of his first appearance at the NOTP the appearance of the legendary Alan Parsons marks a watershed moment. As one of the pre-eminent music producers, Parsons ruled the international charts with mega-hits such as "Eye in the Sky" and "Don’t Answer Me".

Al McKay’s Earth, Wind & Fire Experience promise to transform the Night of the Proms into a giant dance-floor and EW&F evergreen hits still feature on any self-respecting party playlist.

USA rockers, the Hooters, have long been a staple on daily German radio playlists. "All You Zombies", "500 Miles" and "Johnny B." are just some of the chart hits notched up by the Philadelphia band over the decades. Hooters made their breakthrough following their performance at the 1985 Live Aid Festival.

Young German artist, Leslie Clio, describes her music as soul-pop. Debuting in 2012 with her hit "Told You So", Clio followed with the catchy 2017 single "Couldn't Care Less". She also participated in the 5-member jury at the German 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

After exactly 20 years Natalie Choquette returns to the Night of the Proms. Following her sensational 1999 debut appearance, the then pregnant Choquette captured the hearts of the audience, (some say) even stealing the limelight from international stars such as Zucchero and Status Quo.

John Miles is once again set to appear at this 26th German Night of the Proms. While his cover versions of popular hits have long enthralled audiences, the amiable Brit from Newcastle is set to deliver the signature anthem of this tour with his world-wide chart-topper: "Music (was my First Love)".
