The Kelly Family

Half a dozen hands in the liquid concrete – there was not much space left when the Kelly Family were awarded a plaque in der Munich Olympic Walk of Stars. Six members of the Irish-American music group came on the dot at the ceremony in the backstage area of the Olympiahalle. Patricia Kelly wrote the band’s name into the cement and happily received a huge gingerbread award.

Later in the evening they caused enthusiasm among their fans in a sold-out Olympiahalle. Almost right on the day 25 years after their first debut concert at the same stage in March 1995 the Kelly Family played most of their greatest hits including almost all tracks of “Over The Hump”, their Number-One-Album of 1994 which led to their final breakthrough in Germany.

For a quarter of a century the Kelly Family have perpetuated themselves in the hearts of the fans – and now also on the shore of the Lake in the Olympiapark.
