Lindsey Vonn & Felix Neureuther

01.01.2011

For the first time, the alpine skiing elite immortalize themselves in the Munich Olympic Walk of Stars!

What a date: 1.1.11! Lindsey Vonn and Felix Neureuther are sitting in an Audi and are being shuttled from the World Cup slope on Olympic Hill to the Olympic Stadium. They have just finished training for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. Bastian Schweinsteiger has paid his friend Felix a visit at the track. That's why Felix also tells Lindsey a bit about the national kicker and how much he earns... The two are off to put your hands in cement. Maria Riesch should also be there, but she is already on her way back to Garmisch because of a cold and is taking it easy for the race.

In the Olympic lobby, the time has come. Two good-humored ski stars leave their marks in the cement. Exhibition boards with photos of Olympia 72, Robbie Williams and the emperor with the World Cup trophy serve as background. Now two skiers are also part of the impressive MOWOS family. They are visibly in a good mood, joke a lot and are happy about the honor. For Felix, the "home race" is of course of special significance. In the end, in front of an impressive backdrop (snow-covered Olympic Park, 25,000 spectators), he comes fourth in a thrilling duel with Bode Miller. Vonn is unfortunately eliminated in the quarterfinals.

But on the Olympic lake you take first place in any case - at least in the discipline of alpine racing.
