"Ovo", the new Cirque du Soleil arena show, is a fast-paced, colourful and whimsical kaleidoscope of outstanding, artistic perfection.
The immensely diverse world of insects provides an ironic blueprint for what happens on the stage, which resembles a nest filled with acrobatics and comedy. “Ovo”, which means egg in Portuguese, is a timeless symbol that is woven through the performance like a red thread. And even with flying and creeping creatures, love cannot be overlooked, as the formidable ladybug discovers her heart’s desire for the lively, foreign flyer. And as usual withCirque du Soleil ”Ovo” is also packed full of top rate artistic performances.
“Ovo”, is the 25th production by Cirque du Soleil, which was created for their 25th anniversary. The show was hosted in 30 cities in the big top tent, before it was transformed into an arena tour in 2016.
Cirque du Soleil began life as a group of street artists and developed into a global, Quebec-based company that produces artistic entertainment at the highest level. Cirque du Soleil employs nearly 4,000 people, including 1,300 artists from more than 50 different countries.
