Olympic Swimming Pool

Dive into the pool of Olympic stars. In 1972, Mark Spitz was crowned the most successful athlete of the Summer Games here with seven gold medals. Today, this historic site is one of Munich's most popular indoor swimming pools. For recreational swimmers as well as top athletes.

Swimming, jumping, sauna: a sports paradise with history

Seven world records, seven gold medals: For US swimming star Mark Spitz, the swimming hall became the site of his greatest triumph in 1972. One year after the Summer Games, the swimming hall opened for general swimming, and since then the Olympic pool has been one of the most popular indoor pools in the city. Munich's only public 50-metre indoor pool has hosted German championships six times and offers perfect training conditions for numerous sports clubs, for recreational and top swimmers. In addition to the five pools, other highlights include a diving area from which you can jump into the water from three, five or ten metres, a separate children's paddling area for the youngsters, a sauna area with its own snow cabin to strengthen the immune system and a fitness centre. So let's dive in, work out and feel good.
