Maria Höfl-Riesch

22.12.2011

Two days before Christmas, everyone was still looking forward to the second FIS World Cup on the Olympiaberg. The global elite of Alpine skiing were to once again battle it out for World Cup points in the parallel slalom on the 1st of January 2012. Despite no frost for many weeks, the Olympic Park appeared pretty white that day, even though the temperature rose again a few days later and the event had to be called off.

TwIce Olympic Champion, World Champion and Overall World Cup Winner Maria Höfl-Riesch therefore came to the Olympic Park in advance and was the star guest at a press conference held to mark the World Cup event. Over 100 journalists swarmed around the newly designed lake restaurant. After the press conference, it was over to the Foyer of the Olympic Tower, where the cement slab awaited Maria, who was in a jovial mood. Jewellery and watches were quickly handed over to the MOWOS team and, once the hand prints had been made, a few proud words were spoken about the honour of the occasion.

This time, the immortalisation ceremony was barely 40 metres from the Walk of Stars, which meant that Maria was quickly able to find her place and the representatives of the media were just nearby.
