The Summer Festival is a wonderful event, particularly for families and anyone spending their summer holidays in Munich. In 2026, from 31 July to 23 August, adults and children alike can look forward to 24 days packed with a wide variety of events, featuring popular classics and new experiences.

Past events of the Olympic Park

Sommernachtstraum

The weather had caused a few hiccups at the start, but then the Sommernachtstraum truly lived up to its name. On 18 July, with summery temperatures, 24,000 visitors flocked to experience the Sommernachtstraum. On the main stage, Madcon, Zoe Wees and SEDA created a festival atmosphere, whilst on the Peninsula Stage, Caribou, Cosmica Bandida, Benjamin Röder and Der Brane kept the audience entertained throughout the day.

The Sommernachtstraum was exactly what it was meant to be: a shared experience full of music, atmosphere and great emotions. The event proved to be a diverse open-air experience. A karaoke stage provided opportunities for spontaneous sing-alongs, whilst a glitter station, body painting and temporary tattoos added to the festival atmosphere. The event also featured creative highlights such as the ‘floating’ art gallery and the Madcon portrait. Radio Gong 96.3’s “World’s Smallest Club”, as well as the smaller stages Klangkiste and Traumwolke featuring regional artists, rounded off the programme. The emotional highlight of the evening was the “TETRA – The Shape of Energy” fireworks display. It combined pyrotechnics, special effects, music and 150 drones into an impressive overall production.

MASH

An action park with a cosy, living-room atmosphere for young and old alike – colourful, exciting, imaginative and always just a little bit different: the MASH action sports festival took place from 26 to 28 June and thrilled around 60,000 visitors.

One festival. Five sports: ‘Same venue – new discipline’ was the motto for the skateboarders. The vert made a brilliant comeback. Just like at the 2013 X Games, the four-metre-high and 19-metre-wide halfpipe stood in front of the grass terraces at the Olympiasee. The BMX riders also had the chance to prove themselves on a set-up featuring an 80-metre-long jump line right in the middle of the Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Square. And it was precisely here that the mountain bikers held their competition, celebrating a magnificent revival following their 2016 event. Thrilling runs were once again put on display by the world’s best wakeboarders. And: in 2026, there was another street dance contest – the national qualifier for Red Bull Dance Your Style. But MASH was much more than just a ‘simple’ sporting event. The MASH Fest was the heart of the event; this is where you could really feel the pulse of the scene. Sport, art, culture and creativity merged to create a unique experience.

Easter Festival

For decades, Easter has been an integral part of spring in Munich, attracting young and old alike. And in 2026, too, Easter Sunday in the Olympiapark was a colourful celebration for the whole family.

On 5 April, visitors were treated to a six-hour programme packed with exciting attractions. Magic clown Manu enchanted his audience with astonishing illusions and magical tricks. In the fairy-tale tent, fantastical stories from the world of fables came to life, whilst at two craft stations the children’s creativity knew no bounds. Anyone who wanted to could have the face-painting team transform them into the most wonderful fantasy characters. Presenter Simon Jägersberger and the team from Radio Arabella guided the audience through the programme with an entertaining stage show. Of course, Munich’s fairground entertainers were also back in action. 35,000 visitors experienced all this and much more at the Olympic Park over Easter.
