04/09/2005: Seven fine figures of man from South Tyrol happily cast their mitts into the Munich cement.

Spatzen for ever: Before they gave their concert in the Olympic hall, the seven folk musicians left 14 hand prints for the MOWOS. 60 fans of all ages specially travelled by bus from South Tyrol to Munich to celebrate this event. The seven folk music stars could count on their fans’ enthusiastic admiration.

The „Spatzen“ took it calmly. And as former craftsmen, two of the musicians were even able to talk shop: they were taken with the quality of the cement and also knew exactly how to hold the pen to cast a legibly signature into the material.

There is hardly any award that the Kastelruther Spatzen have not yet won. Winner of the folk music Grand Prix 1990, winner of countless German TV charts and the folk music super charts, honoured with the Bambi award, Goldene Stimmgabel award, Krone der Volksmusik award, Edelweiss award and 8 Echo awards of the German Phonoakademie.

No other artist has ever been as successful in the field of folk music as Norbert Rier and his lads.

They easily fill concert halls from the Alps to the North Sea.

Meanwhile, their music is also sought after by fans in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Experts and audience agree only very rarely with each other – but that much is certain: the Kastelruther Spatzen are the undisputable no. 1 of folk music and have honestly deserved the honour to be immortalized in the Olympic Walk of Stars.
