Iron Maiden

01/08/2023

It almost got crowded on the concrete plate: with six hands, the indestructible heavy metal legends of Iron Maiden immortalised themselves on our Walk of Stars at the beginning of August 2023 - 43 years after their premiere in the Olympic Park, where they have become beloved regulars over the decades.

In September 1980, the band performed in Munich for the first time on tour for their debut album "Iron Maiden", at that time still supporting Kiss. After that, the furious Englishmen rocked the Olympic Hall in 1983, 1984, 2003 and 2011, and in 2016 they stood on the stage of the Olympic Stadium at Rockavaria. Now the sextet returned to the Olympic Hall in the summer of 2023 for a phenomenal double concert, with hits from their hit album "Senjutsu" as well as classics from their cult record "Somewhere In Time". At the ceremony in the backstage area, the metal old-timers were delighted to present themselves (from left to right): Guitarist Adrian Smith, singer Bruce Dickinson, guitarist Janick Gers, keyboardist and bassist Steve Harris, guitarist Dave Murray and drummer Nicko McBrain.
