JETIX KIDS CUP 2006

The international final of the JETIX KIDS CUP will be held in World Cup year from 3-5 July 2006, immediately before the final of the FIFA World Cup. During this time, Munich's Olympic Stadium will become a place to meet and play for over 250 children from all over the world. With its extensive programme of fringe events, the competition will be the children's football highlight of the year.

The JETIX KIDS CUP, which aims to promote fair play, cultural exchange and an active lifestyle, is being held in 2006 for the seventh time in a row. Up to 16 nations from three continents will be taking part in this unique children's football event, which will culminate in a grand finale in the Olympic Stadium. After the end of the national competitions in May 2006, the winning teams from every nation will come to Munich to represent their country in the international finals and to share their love of football with children from all over the world. The JETIX KIDS CUP was established in 1999 and is an event that is broadcast worldwide in which up to 20 nations participate each year. The last world finals were held in 2004 in the Disneyland Resort in Paris. The current World Children's Football Champions are the girls' team from the USA and the boys' team from Israel. The organisers of the German PREMIERE JETIX KIDS CUP tournament are PREMIERE, UNICEF and the children's TV station JETIX, who have entered into a wide-ranging partnership until World Cup year 2006 for the promotion of children's football. Franz Beckenbauer, President of the German organising committee for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™: "The PREMIERE JETIX KIDS CUP is a model initiative when it comes to football for young players." Christophe Erbes, Managing Director of JETIX EUROPE GMBH: "We are proud to be allowed to hold the international finals of the JETIX KIDS CUP this year in the country that is hosting the 2006 World Cup.
