OTTO

Live 2022

Olympic Hall

The organiser has cancelled the show

"Under the given situation we unfortunately have to cancel the tour "OTTO - Live" in 2022. After we already had to postpone the tour from 2021 to 2022, we see ourselves forced to cancel the approximately 86 shows in a total of five European countries despite the current relaxations. Purchased tickets can be returned to the respective ticket office from February 21, 2022.

About the MAN: If someone has managed to make a career just using his first name, then you should know that he’s come a long way. And if it also happens to be his real first name (and not a made up one like ‘Loriot’ or ‘Campino’), then he has really made it! Without even using a nickname or a diminutive alias, Otto has truly arrived. In Germany, it’s a common first name: four German emperors were called Otto and there were at least as many inventors with that name.

About the SUBJECT: Of course, controversy is never far off, with the Süddeutsche Zeitung daily newspaper being particularly unforgiving. “Otto Waalkes has done a lot of harm. He’s the one responsible for the infection of a whole generation of Germans by that ridiculous ‘hop-step’ unleashed by Waalkes fans across the world, and uttering "Hahaaa!" for no apparent reason!”

According to the latest surveys, more than half of respondents in German-speaking countries would think of some other Otto, when mentioning the name. The rest would burst out laughing!
