"The Boys Are Back in Town"! With that familiar slogan, it’s a sign that Ireland’s THIN LIZZY is set to return to the Munich Olympic Hall on 1st March 2019, after their last rousing Rock Meets Classic performance three years ago. World star ANNA MARIA KAUFMANN has also been confirmed as a special guest on the show.
Legendary guitarist Scott Gorham (67) and charismatic vocalist Ricky Warwick (52) celebrate 50 years in Thin Lizzy. Five decades with major hits such as "The Boys are Back in Town", "Jailbreak" and "Still in Love with You".
In 2019, Rock Meets Classic fans can look forward to great classics of rock history.
As Mat Sinner, Rock Meets Classic Musical Director puts it: "What better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Thin Lizzy and The Sweet than on the 2019 Rock Meets Classic anniversary tour. These are two legendary bands that have musically influenced us all!"
Sinner continues: "Scott Gorham and Ricky Warwick proved to be a great asset on their first RMC tour, both personally and in musical terms they have been part of the RMC family ever since. As Scott Gorham confided, the band was 100% keen to get back on stage and we at RMC were glad to oblige! With hits like "Whiskey in The Jar", we're really looking forward to the return of Thin Lizzy — and the indomitable spirit of Phil Lynott!"
Moving freely between musical, operetta and pop genres, German-Canadian singer Anna Maria Kaufmann
has been one of the most successful and versatile singers, performing worldwide at the top venues. In 1990 she broke through internationally with her unforgettable performance of "Christine" in the classic musical "Phantom of the Opera" alongside Peter Hofmann. Her vocal range sublimely spans classical and rock and perfectly fits in with the Rock Show of the Year.
