Judas Priest

They couldn't wait any longer. The ceremony wasn't actually scheduled to start until around 7:30 p.m., but shortly after 7:00 p.m., four members of Judas Priest arrived backstage at the Olympic Hall to immortalise themselves on their plaque for the Munich Olympic Walk of Stars. The grand masters of heavy metal, who first thrilled their fans at the Olympiahalle in 1988, were in high spirits and joked around during relaxed small talk with the MOWOS team. Then frontman and singer Rob Halford, guitarist Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis pressed their eight hands into the liquid concrete.

After a good ten minutes, the tireless British rock legends took their leave and headed back to the dressing room – only to return shortly afterwards for their spectacular performance as part of the ‘Shield of Pain’ tour at the Olympic Hall, proving once again why, more than half a century after the band was formed, they are still considered one of the world’s best heavy metal bands.
