Nine disciplines, around 4,700 athletes, 176 medal decisions - and exactly one year to go. The countdown is on for Munich's biggest multisport event since the 1972 Summer Olympics. On August 11, exactly 365 days before the opening, there will now be a small taste of the European Championships throughout the city. Munich 2022 is getting closer.
Here are all the activities:
Olympic Park:
- Max Lemke (kayak) and Oliver Zeidler (rowing) swap boats and compete against each other on Lake Olympia (time approx. 7:45 p.m.)
- Community Run with Christina Hering (Start: 6 p.m.)
- Colorful concert and art program at the Theatron (start: 5 p.m.)
Odeonsplatz:
- Table tennis tournament (free open to the public; starting at 5 p.m.)
- Boulder cube (free open to the public; 12-20 p.m.)
- Gymnastics (free open to the public, supervision of coaches; 12-5 p.m.)
- Rowing ergometer challenge (free open to the public; 12-8 p.m.)
- Varied music program
Theresienwiese:
- Beach volleyball (accessible from 9 a.m.; tournament starts at 4 p.m.)
- DJ truck from 2 p.m.
