The countdown for the Munich Action Sports Heroes is on

The countdown is on - in just under four weeks, the Olympiapark will play host for the second time to action sports fans of all kinds. The preparations for MUNICH MASH (26 - 28 June 2015) are therefore well underway: the starter lists for the SWATCH PRIME LINE, the BMX STREET RINK and - for the first time the SKATEBOARD STREET RINK - are all filling up. All the other preparations are in full swing too “We promise to offer visitors a unique weekend of action sports. High-calibre and exciting contests featuring renowned international athletes and a fringe programme of musical and cultural events are what makes MASH a true experience,” says OK boss Frank Seipp. In terms of sport, MASH is definitely taking things to the next level. The SWATCH PRIME LINE mountainbike slopestyle is one of six events in the Diamond series in 2015, making it one of the most important contests within the FMB World Tour. The BMW Street Rink, the starter list for which is already full with big names, is entering its next round. Street skateboarding is finally getting its own international competition this year: the SKATEBOARD STREET RINK. Here, US professionals will compete with European and national top skaters in the Olympic Ice Stadium and inspire audiences with their breathtaking tricks. “We are absolutely delighted that we have managed, in this second year of MASH, to establish such an internationally high-calibre skateboarding contest,” says Seipp. “But it's just as important for us to be able to offer the local scene an event of its own too. That's why we're so pleased that we're hosting the Red Bull Hometown Session on the Friday evening of MASH.” The great thing about this session is that, from the 50 participating local heroes, one rider will ultimately be chosen to then take part in the SKATEBOARD STREET RINK on Sunday. “With this event, which we are able to host thanks to our partner Red Bull, we want to offer the local scene a competition that interests them and to support the efforts of the State Capital Munich, which is already very involved in the field of action sports with BMX and skateboarding workshops, as well as at MASH,” says Arno Hartung, Managing Director of Olympiapark München GmbH MASH at a glance MASH FEST, 26 - 28 June, from outside Coubertinplatz to Willi-Daume-Platz, admission free!
