C R O and a new concept for the Munich Midsummer Nights Dream

Munich’s biggest annual open air music and fireworks festival is getting a new, exciting and more modern format. A new, two-stage concept around the Olympic lake will be the hallmark of the 12th Munich Midsummer Night's Dream on 29 July 2017. With the main act CRO, the event organiser, Olympiapark München GmbH, has also managed to bring in one of the country’s most popular artists. To conclude, the Munich Midsummer Night’s Dream, sponsored by HypoVereinsbank, will once again be staging an emotional, mega-music fireworks display lasting 35 minutes. The main stage at the Munich Midsummer Night’s Dream will be located on Coubertinplatz in 2017. The “Park sound stage” will be home to a hugely popular young and urban music festival: panda rapper CRO, a chart topper with platinum status, will play a full concert featuring all of his hits, including “Easy”, “Traum” and “Bye Bye”. Before that, Gregor Meyle and Seven - both of whom earned fame through the successful TV programme “Sing meinen Song - das Tauschkonzert” - will rock the stage. Max the Sax, the former saxophonist with Parov Stelar, is another high-profile name on the list. Summer, sunshine, music, drinks, celebrations, emotion - and all in the heart of the most beautiful city in the world. Festivals just don’t get any better. On the "Inselbeat stage” on the eastern bank of the Olympic lake, Bavarian and Austrian music acts will be creating that summer feeling in the open air. The programme here is geared towards a slightly older audience, because the Munich Midsummer Night needs to remain an event with a broad target audience. Peter Cornelius, Claudia Koreck, The Heimatdamisch and Austrofred will guarantee superb musical entertainment. A wide range of dishes typical of the country will also provide treats for the taste buds. In front of the unique backdrop of the Olympic Park, an extravagant, 35-minute mega firework show accompanied by music will bring Munich’s largest annual musical and entertainment event to a close. “We've deliberately made the event more compact”, explains Olympic Park Managing Director Arno Hartung. “With this new concept, we’ll be becoming a bit younger and positioning the event more centrally around the Olympic lake so that visitors do not have to walk too far. The fireworks in the 360-degree format can be experienced brilliantly from any position. With tickets costing from Euro 47 (Park sound stage) and Euro 24 (Inselbeat stage), the Munich Midsummer Night's Dream offers excellent value for money.
