25 days of summer party at the impark Summer Festival

18.07.2018 - Olympiapark München GmbH

A regular fixture of every summer in Munich with a history going back decades: celebrating 37 glorious years since it was first organised was this year's impark Summer Festival. Three and a half weeks of summer fun. From Thursday, 26th July to Sunday, 19th August, it's all fun and games, with lots of activity, enjoyment and relaxation for everyone. Especially for families with children who are staying at home this year, this event is an absolute must for the summer holidays. The classics This event would not be complete without the summer festival classics. Shopping Street (Budenstrasse) will provide plenty of opportunity to browse and shop to your heart's delight, and of course the Munich showmen and show-women will be at the Festival in the Olympic Park with their stands and fairground rides. Gourmet Alley (Feinschmeckergasse) will, as usual, be serving up a wide variety of tasty dishes from all over the world. On the 2nd and 16th of August, the skies above the Olympic Park will burst into flame with spectacular fireworks, and on Tuesdays (31st July, 7th and 14th of August), the younger summer party attendees will be able to look forward to the showmen and show-women's fantastic kid's days! Wakeboarding and SUP on the Olympic Lake Appearing once again this year will be Munich Airport's ISLE of SPORTS. One of the attractions of this Isle of Sports is the wakeboarding course on the Olympic Lake. It is set up for each participant individually and guarantees fun and success for everyone, from beginners to professionals! Stand-up paddling, or SUP for short, is also on the list of activities. Whether it's a relaxing canoe trip over the Olympic Lake or active training for strength, balance and coordination at SUP Yoga and SUP Fitness, everyone will find something to try. The waterpark attractions promise a real fun factor, such as the Supervolley, an inflatable volleyball pitch comprising two trampolines and a net, which will be floating on the lake. The "Balance Kids" holiday sports programme for children aged between 8 and 14 years will incorporate a mixture of all of the activities available. For those who prefer dry land, there's cross&lateral functional training, as well as whole-body training on the surrounding hills, steps and fields of the Olympic Park. The CAPRI beach bar on the Olympic Lake The Olympic Lake and the Olympic Park's architectural ensemble provide a breath-taking backdrop for the Italian CAPRI beach bar, which will bring a little of "la dolce vita" to the summer festival in terms of look, experiences and food! The open-air night flea markets Around the Olympic Lake, on the 28th of July and 18th of August, the night flea markets will be selling everything a home could ever need. Visitors can browse the stalls with a relaxed drink in hand while listening to great music. Music at the Summer Festival From the 26th of July to the 19th of August, there's going to be a huge array of music on offer at the live concerts being held in the Theatron MusikSommer. Every day, from 7 p.m., bands of many different genres will be performing here, and admission is free. And there'll be even more music for festival-goers' ears in the beer garden, with performances from the Easy Licks, Michltrio, The Pure, 2erbeziehung and Saitenstechen. Rodscha aus Kambodscha und Tom Palme will also be appearing at the CAPRI beach bar. The Summer Festival is open from Monday to Wednesday between 12 p.m. and 11 p.m., on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 11.30 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Further information can be found at: www.impark.de
