Whilst the 2026 Abbamania show at the Olympic Hall was centred around “Dancing Queen”, the show now pays tribute to another mega-hit: “Thank You For The Music”. Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson had written the song for “The Girl With The Golden Hair”, a mini-musical that was always performed at the end of concerts during the Swedish pop icons’ 1977 world tour and largely recounted the band’s history. Notably, “Thank You For The Music” did not appear on a single until May 1978 – and even then only as the B-side to the song “Eagle”. It was not until 1983 that the band released it as the A-side on a single of its own.
Alongside the anniversary anthem, fans can of course look forward to a host of other classics. From “The Winner Takes It All” to “Mamma Mia”, from “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” and “SOS” to all the many other unforgettable hits. Performed once again by the Symphonic Rock Orchestra, the Abbamania band and outstanding singers. Costumes faithful to the originals and a spectacular light and stage show provide the perfect setting to celebrate the sound of ABBA once again in style – and to say thank you. Thank you for the music.
