The Skylift is a special attraction at the Olympic Park – the ride in front of the Olympic Action Sports Centre takes passengers up to a height of 70 metres in its four gondolas, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the park, the city and, on a clear day, the Alps. The Skylift tour begins with a short film showing impressions of the 1972 Summer Games, followed by an overview of the park's history based on the original miniature model created by the Olympic architects. After the SkyLift ride, the guides take visitors on a walk to the sports facilities that are still in use today and talk about the history of the construction as well as the vision of open and democratic games at the 1972 Olympics.
Our tip: The Skylift tour at sunset is a truly special experience. As the sun slowly sinks behind the city skyline and the sky glows with warm colours, the Olympic Park reveals its very own magic. The view from what is currently the park’s highest vantage point is a wonderful moment for anyone who wants to experience Munich at its most beautiful. The tours start at around 7.30 pm (later from 7.00 pm).
