Cancelled 35th GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON

Over recent weeks, the team has been working flat out on our new concept. Contrary to our assumptions a couple of weeks ago and due to the highly changeable situation and uncertain outlook, we will not be able to carry out the run this year. The health and safety of the participants, volunteers, emergency services and partners are our overriding priority. The plan was to deploy a new concept that would allow us to hold the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON 2020 on a shortened route and with staggered starts. Social distancing and hygiene measures were stipulated to ensure that protection against infection could be guaranteed at all times. We had been encouraged by the responsible authorities and the Bavarian state government to propose a creative solution, but having spectators along the route represented an increased risk.
