Glover began his career as a film and television writer in 2005 with the news satire "The Daily Show". His acting credits include "The Martian: Save Mark Watney" (2015), "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017) and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" (2018). He received two Emmys and two Golden Globes for his leading role and direction in the drama series "Atlanta". As a musician, he hit the charts for the first time under the pseudonym Childish Gambino with his debut studio album "Camp" in 2011 and achieved his first top ten placing two years later with "Because the Internet". His biggest commercial success was "Awaken, My Love!", which reached number 5 on the Billboard 200 in 2016. With its fusion of psychedelic soul, funk and R&B, the album marked a departure from the hip-hop that had dominated until then.
Childish Gambino made a return to his rap roots in 2018 with his number 1 single "This Is America". The song earned him three MTV Video Music Awards and four Grammys. With "Atavista", the artist has now finalised a revised version of his 2020 album "3.15.20" - just in time for his New World Tour, during which he will also make a guest appearance in the Olympic Hall on 21 November.
