Cirque du Soleil

In the four decades since it was founded in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has enchanted more than 378 million people in 86 countries around the world. While the Canadian entertainment company was still a guest at the Theresienwiese with its show "Kurios" at the beginning of 2024, Cirque is now returning to Munich at the end of the year. For seven performances of the legendary production "Corteo" - a programme that premiered as a tent show in Montreal in 2005 and has been touring the world's major venues in a revised version since 2018. It tells the story of a clown who contemplates his own funeral somewhere between heaven and earth, surrounded by angels. The melancholy of the seemingly tragic atmosphere is mixed with exuberant cheerfulness in the poetry of a delicate and fragile world of illusion. Acrobatics, artistry and drama merge in this theatre of dreams to create a grandiose overall event. 

A special feature of Corteo is the revolving stage, which divides the audience into two opposing areas in this captivating production - for a touching and gracefully beautiful experience, for a rousing and fascinating celebration of great emotions.
