DHB Handball International Match

Two international matches for the teams of the German Handball Federation (DHB) in Munich

A must for all handball enthusiasts: The last international matches for the 2017/18 season are held on Wednesday, 6 June in the Olympic Hall in Munich.

National trainer Henk Groener’s women’s national team meets Poland in the Olympic Hall, while the men’s national team will play against Norway, runner-up of the 2017 World Championship. The most recent time that Munich was the setting for an international handball match was in 2007. At that time, the men’s national team, managed by former national trainer Heiner Brand, played against Egypt at the World Championship rehearsal. For the women’s national team, the showdown with Poland will be the first international match in the Bavarian capital. In January 2019, the Olympic Hall with a capacity of 12,000 spectators will also be the venue for the qualifying matches of the men’s World Championship in Germany and Denmark (10 – 27 January). “We are in the grip of handball fever! We are currently not only looking forward to the World Championship in January 2019, but also to two international matches in June. As Manageress, of course, I think it’s great that we are able to welcome the women’s national team at the Olympic Hall before the men have to tackle the runner-up World Champions Norway.”, explains Olympic Park’s boss Marion Schöne in anticipation of the major sporting event in the Munich Olympic Hall.  Tickets for the international matches on 6 June are available at www.dhb.de of the DHB ticket hotline 01806-99 77 23 (0.20 Euro per call incl. VAT from landlines in Germany, max. 0.60 Euro per call incl. VAT from German mobile phone networks) and at www.muenchenticket.de
