Die Prinzen

The friends, who had sung in the St Thomas Choir in Leipzig and the Kreuzchor in Dresden in their youth, enjoyed their first successes whilst the GDR was still in existence. After reunification, Sebastian Krumbiegel and his bandmates really took off. Their debut album *Das Leben ist grausam* reached number 5 in the charts, whilst singles such as *Millionär* and *Mann im Mond* became their first massive hits. Over the course of their career, Die Prinzen sold six million records, were honoured with 16 gold and platinum albums, and received two Echo Awards as well as numerous other accolades.

The fact that it’s now all over will be a bitter disappointment for many Prinzen fans. However, it is a fully conscious decision on the band’s part. Not out of weariness, but out of conviction. Before their passion eventually turns into routine, they want to step down from the stage whilst their performances still bring them joy and their live shows continue to exude that very special magic, just as they have over the past decades. For their performance at the Olympic Hall, Die Prinzen promise a loud and deeply emotional evening. And even though they’ll be disappearing from the live stage after their ‘Tschüssi, macht’s gut’ tour, Die Prinzen’s music will forever remain a part of German pop culture.
