James Blunt

James Blunt was already writing his own songs whilst serving in the army, a period which saw him posted to Kosovo shortly before the turn of the millennium, amongst other places. After leaving the army in 2002, he soon secured his first record deal, and from then on everything happened at breakneck speed. With ‘Back To Bedlam’, Blunt made a spectacular debut; the album stormed to number one in the charts in his native UK, as well as in Germany, the USA and many other countries. In the UK, it became the best-selling album of the 2010s; in the all-time list of the most successful albums in British chart history, ‘Back To Bedlam’ still ranks in the top 30.

His biggest hit was ‘You’re Beautiful’, which held the number one spot in the UK for five weeks. Blunt has also charted in the top ten with his seven other studio albums, most recently in 2023 with “Who We Used To Be”. With “Airplane Mode”, James Blunt now strikes a more contemplative note once again, reflecting on life’s trials and tribulations, as heard in the song with the telling title “Weight Of It All”. Other tracks, such as “Tastes Like Summer”, sound light, upbeat and carefree. A wonderful evening of Blunt-style singer-songwriting that fans at the Olympic Hall can look forward to.
