His rise from student to global star is unprecedented. After graduating from college in 2017, Lewis Capaldi uploaded his first self-written song "Bruises" on online music services - and already the touching track became one of the most successful debut singles of the year. His UK tour a few months later turned out to be an overwhelming success. The halls were completely sold out before the Scot had even released his first album. No artist before him had ever achieved this.
Capaldi's final breakthrough as an international star came in 2019 with the single "Someone You Loved". The song spent seven weeks at the top of the UK charts and stayed in the top ten for 31 weeks, longer than any other hit by a British artist before. The song won a Brit Award and was nominated for a Grammy. On the 70th anniversary of the UK Singles Chart in November 2022, "Someone You Loved" was named the most streamed song of all time in the UK, with 480 million audio streams and 81 million video streams.
Performing his big hits to date and new songs from his album "Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent", released in May 2023, Lewis Capaldi comes to the Olympic Hall on 12 September 2023. Tickets from the originally postponed date remain valid.
