There is a 1 km public swim for beginners and a 4 km long-distance swim for experienced swimmers and triathletes. Clear, clean water and good orientation make for a unique swim of this kind. The start time is 11 am. The water temperature is currently 18 degrees. Wetsuits can be hired on site from our partner myswimshop.
We are expecting another fast race, with last year's winner Faris Al-Sultan, Ironman Hawaii World Champion in 2005, as a prominent pre-swimmer. However, multiple winner Dajana Pechtl will also be taking part. She holds the women's course record of 48:23 minutes and also dominated all male participants with this time in 2019. Tip for spectators and photographers: you can watch the race just a few metres from the shore!
Around 400 participants are expected to register. Online registration is still open up to and including Tuesday 28 May. Late registration on 1 June is possible from 9.00 a.m. as long as starting documents are available. All participants will receive a high-quality swimming cap from powerbreather. Timekeeping will be by chip. At the finish there will be the traditional finisher's gift, fruit refreshments will also be provided and drinks will be provided by partners Erdinger Alkoholfrei and Xenofit.
The Munich Long Distance Swim is the second largest of its kind in southern Germany after the Starnberger See Swim.
