Munich Triathlon 2027

The event, which was developed by the German Triathlon Union (DTU) in close cooperation with the World Triathlon Federation, is intended to provide a platform for both grassroots sport and international elite sport in future. For the inaugural event, the programme features a sprint distance and a short distance (Olympic distance) for ambitious beginners as well as experienced age-group athletes.

 

Participants can look forward to a course with a unique character: the swim takes place in the Olympic Lake, whilst the cycling route heads west from the Olympic Park and then back again. The running route runs entirely through the Olympic Park. A particularly challenging section awaits on the Olympiaberg, before the race concludes with the finish line at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz, right next to the Olympic Stadium.

 

The Olympic Park is far more than just a venue. At the 2022 European Championships, Munich already experienced a vibrant triathlon festival with packed spectator areas and a special atmosphere along the course. The 2027 Munich Triathlon aims to build on these memories whilst simultaneously opening a new chapter in Munich’s triathlon history.

The Munich Triathlon offers participants a variety of ways to experience the course. Both the sprint and short distances pass through the Olympic Park. The Munich Triathlon is therefore aimed at experienced triathletes as well as anyone wishing to get a taste of competitive triathlon for the first time.
