Oktoberfest 7s

THE RUGBY TOURNAMENT - ELITE OF THE WORLD

On 21st and 22nd September, the Olympic Stadium in Munich is set to host the world's largest independent rugby tournament featuring the top international rugby teams. Led by current world champions, New Zealand, the first six teams in the world rankings are set to battle it out on the first weekend of the “Wiesn”/Oktoberfest. All in all, eight teams will take part in the second edition of the Oktoberfest 7s game.

Known as the “All Blacks Sevens” because of their signature black jerseys, the New Zealand team will be coming to Germany for the first time ever. They’ll battle it out with the world’s rugby royalty ahead of the Olympic season: Fiji, the Olympic champions, World Series winner, South Africa, title defenders, Australia, Vice World Champions England and USA, the most successful team this season. The German home team are seen as outsiders, but thanks to support of local fans, there might be surprises in store, as happened in the first Oktoberfest 7s game in 2017. The German fans haven’t forgotten their success in the game against the French squad! The 2019 Oktoberfest 7s is an event that no Munich sports fan can afford to miss! On Saturday, 21st September from 2 pm: during two preliminary rounds the Semi-Finals will take place in groups of four teams. On Sunday, 22nd September, starting at 11 am: The Finals The Awards Ceremony takes place at 4 pm. More information can be found at https://oktoberfest7s.com
