As a court reporter for many years, Sabine Rückert followed spectacular criminal trials and wrote numerous award-winning reports and books. Her research has also uncovered miscarriages of justice and initiated retrials that ended with the acquittal of wrongly convicted people. In April 2018, she and her colleague Andreas Sentker, the editor of the magazine ‘Zeit Wissen’, launched the podcast ‘Zeit Verbrechen’, in which stories, backgrounds and investigative methods are described: from little-known crimes to stirring events such as the criminal proceedings against Monika Weimar, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her two children in a circumstantial trial - or the trial against the husband and other tormentors of Gisèle Pelicot in Avignon in 2024.
In 2020, Rückert, who was once hailed as the ‘Queen of True Crime’ by the NZZ, and Sentker received the German Podcast Award in the ‘Best Journalistic Achievement’ category. Together with co-hosts Anne Kunze and Daniel Müller, Rückert and Sentker are now going on tour and bringing their most spectacular cases live to the stage of the Olympic Hall.
