World Championships in Figure Skating and Ice Hockey have taken place here as well as the final stage of the European Basketball Championship in 1993 with Germany surprisingly gaining the title. Thrilling tennis matches games in the Davis Cup and the Compaq Grand Slam Cup or breathtaking boxing fights featuring Muhammad Ali or Henry Maske. Adding to that handball and motocross, judo and formation dancing, gymnastics and volleyball: Hardly a sports that has not been staged in the Olympic Hall. More than four decades after the Olympic Summer Games there are still so many sport events on a world class level taking place here. Just take the “Munich Indoors”, the international equestrian event that has found its home in the Olympic Hall since 1998, being scheduled at the end of every year and marking the final stage of the famous “Riders Tour”. The legendary Olympic Hall is also venue of some matches of Munich’s professional Ice Hockey Team EHC Red Bull during their season in the top flight league DEL.

But besides that it has also been provided a phenomenal wide spectrum in Show and Entertainment. From Frank Sinatra to Helene Fischer, from André Rieu to Die Ärzte, from the alpine folk music show Musikantenstadl to the heavy metal heroes of Metallica.
