World of Wine 2006 and the grand wine tasting

30.03.2006 - Olympiapark München GmbH

An exciting wine experience awaits visitors to the international Munich Wine World 2006, to be held from 16 to 18 June on the pitch of the Olympic Stadium. Vintners from all over the world will present their wines as was the case during last year’s premiere. In addition, there are international culinary specialities, “vinotainment” and live music. The unique ambience of the Olympic Stadium offers the backdrop for three pleasure-filled days. The World of Wine is rounded off by a program of entertainment including seminars, workshops and tastings - with the cooperation of organisations such as the German Oenological Federation and personalities such as the VINUM wine writer Rudolf Knoll and top sommelier Markus Del Monego. Overture: “Femmes totales” The overture to the Munich World of Wine will take place on June 15 and will be a highlight for all wine fans. Under the catchword “Femmes totales”, Markus Del Monego, the German winner of the “Best Sommelier in the World” accolade, will introduce sommelières and female wine specialists who are presenting twelve wines produced by well known female vintners. The group includes the French-born Christine Balais, the German Wine Queen Sylvia Benzinger, Annemarie Foidl from Austria, Yvonne Heistermann, Julia Klöckner, Natalie Lumpp and Christine Mayr from the South Tyrol. The wine booths will not be open on June 15, so Olympiapark München GmbH is inviting the guests to a chill-out party in the VIP area following the tasting. There, the guests from the tasting will be able to enjoy a buffet with selected food and wine as well as a programme of entertainment. Entrance prices The price for entering the wine festival from June 16 to 18 is €4.50 per day which includes a complimentary “Sensus” wine glass made by Schott Zwiesel.
