The ultimate summer feeling! With a fantastic feast of visual, audible and hands-on activities, the impark11 summer festival will be celebrating its 30th year from Thursday, 28th July to Sunday, 21st August in the Olympiapark. What's in store: anything that makes summer great and fun. New, exciting hands-on activities such as wave and wake boarding, booths for browsing around and shopping in, fairground rides, carnies, culinary delights and a chill-out area at the beach bar. On the 4th and the 11th of August, the skies over the Olympiapark will be lit up with fantastic fireworks, while on the 2nd and 16th of August, the younger summer festival-goers can look forward to the wonderful carney children's days. And of course, no summer festival would be complete without live concerts from the Theatron MusikSommer programme. Every day - with free admission - bands will be playing music from various genres, from classic and hip-hop to rock and pop. Wakeboard on the Olympiasee A very special attraction at this year's summer festival is the third heat in the German wakeboarding competition series "Wake Masters". Germany's best wakeboarders will be gliding over the waters of the Olympiasee on their nifty boards. From the 28th of July onwards, anyone interested can experience a taster course, following prior registration, or take part in the "open to all" event. High and spectacular jumps will also be on offer for spectators to marvel at in the Night Jumps. On Saturday the 30th of July and Saturday the 6th of August, local heros can qualify in the qualifying competitions for the subsequent German Water Skiing and Wakeboarding Association rankings event, the Wake Masters, being held on the 13th of August. The wakeboarders will be lifted by an almost silent, mobile water ski lift and will be showcasing their breathtaking jumps.  Theatron MusikSommer The music on offer as part of the Theatron MusikSommer event ranges from classical and songwriters to pop, rock and hip-hop. Whether it be the artists, their staff or the audience - the Theatron is a very special location for everyone right inside the world-famous marquee construction and a stalwart of the Olympiapark summer festival. Many of the people appearing here today spent their youth in the Theatron and experienced their first concerts there. On offer is a programme that has been designed with care and artistic appeal, featuring the stars of tomorrow and true musical gems. A full run-down of the listings can be found at www.theatron.de or www.impark.de Slackline course on the Olympiasee During the summer festival, Munich's sport pirates will be setting up a static slackline course on the grassy banks of the Olympiasee. Everyone - from the young to the old - can try out this ultra-trendy sport for themselves in a relaxed atmosphere. Regular courses with professional instructors are on offer for anyone who has never tried a slackline before. Waveboarding in front of the Olympiastadion The waveboard is the most popular funwheel product ever. Whether it involves casually gliding on the asphalt or smart tricks and action in the skate park, this super-trendy form of sport on two wheels is inspirational for the young and the old. At the Outdoor Festival, being held from the 19th to the 21st of August, Streetsurfing will be showcasing its portfolio with a true eye-catcher, which summer festival visitors can try out for themselves. As part of its "European Rampage Tour 2011", the manufacturer will be stopping off with its mega-ramp outside the north entrance of the Olympiastadion. The special construction, made from steel and wood, will offer anyone who wants to the opportunity to put their waveboarding skills to the test. 8 Seasons beach bar on the Olympiasee 800 square metres of sandy beach, sun loungers and cocktails make the beach bar on Munich's most beautiful beach, directly on the Olympiasee, the perfect spot for chilling and sunbathing. Gourmet alley with culinary delights This is the perfect place for enjoying the real tastes of summer. In gourmet alley, not only is there a fantastic view of the Olympiasee, but more importantly there is a whole raft of mouthwatering European and Asian cuisine on offer. The classics Of course, the summer festival classics are there too: the shopping street offers its irresistible invitation to browse and shop, and of course the carnies, with their stands and fairground rides, will be eager to entertain you at the festival in the Olympiapark. An important note for the festival's younger visitors: the carney children's days are being held on the 2nd and the 16th of August. Fantastic fireworks On two evenings, the skies above the Olympiapark - on the 4th of August, but especially on the 11th of August, which is when things get really bright and colourful to mark the summer festival's 30th anniversary - will be ablaze with pyrotechnics, with a huge firework display on both evenings from around 10 p.m. onwards. 34th European Jugglers' Convention - gravity is on vacation Gravity is on vacation. Coinciding with the summer festival is the 34th European Jugglers' Convention, which is being held from the 6th to the 14th of August in the Olympiapark and for the fist time on the Tollwood grounds. It is dedicated to all jugglers and anyone who wants to become one. At the traditional parade of all the participants through the city to the Königsplatz, where the convention will be officially opened, in various shows that are held each evening, in a firework gala and gala shows as the grand finale in the circus crown, amateurs, professionals and the world's most talented jugglers will be out in force. Other highlights include a children's and adolescents' circus, workshops, games, world record attempts and much more. There are weekly, multi-day, day and visitor tickets. For more information, visit www.ejc2011.de. Rummage yourself happy at the Olympiastadion On Saturday, 13th of August, the motto is: rummage yourself happy at the Olympiastadion. At the flea market extravaganza as part of the summer festival, there's plenty to discover for all lovers of kitsch, art and bric-a-brac which will be laid out over an area of around 6,000 square metres. Almost everything is here: unusual furniture, rare vinyl, art and bric-a-brac, jewellery and fashions. Anyone who wants a plot can simply go from being a buyer to a seller. Plots can be booked at the pre-sales ticket centres as well as on the day of the event at the stadium. Admission for visitors begins from 1 p.m. onwards and costs from Euro 3. Dog fans big and small can look forward to an entertaining programme of events that will leave nothing to be desired: Bavaria Dog will be showcasing a wealth of information about man's best friend, as well as some exciting shows.
