03.01.2012 - Olympiapark München GmbH

Munich submits the bid book for the biggest action sport event to ESPN We did it! After three months of intensive preparation the Munich Olympic Park Ltd. submitted the bid book for the Global X Games 2013-2015 on time to the organizer and right holder ESPN. “By handing in the bid book we took a huge step forward to hosting the Summer X Games. I am positive that we have a great shot with our bidding document and event presentation to make the shortlist of possible host cities”, Ralph Huber, Olympiapark boss expresses his confidence. In this case the bidding document is in fact not a printed book but a 190 page strong file that is uploaded in a contemporary fashion to a special ESPN server. Illustrated with approximately 100 pictures and illustrations, several set up outlines, so called renderings, and construction plans the bid book elaborates on all relevant topics concerning the event and how Munich would implement them. In case ESPN decides in April to award Munich as the host city, the Bavarian State Capital will be home of the worlds biggest and most important action sports events where young and attractive sports like skateboard, freestyle motocross and BMX will be presented in a contemporary fashion. In addition to the bid book the bidding committee also created a X Games website www.xgames-munich.com in the last couple of weeks and naturally the Munich bid is also present on Facebook.
