Successful première in the Olympic Park!
A fantastic curtain-up on the X Games Munich: 119,000 visitors streamed over the last four days to the Olympic Park to be inspired by the exciting competitions and acts on offer at the X-Fest. "We're absolutely delighted with this première. The mood in the competitions and at the X-Fest was great, despite the sometimes bad weather and associated delays, and the excitement over the major world action sports events was tangible throughout the Olympic Park," says Olympic Park boss Ralph Huber, continuing: "The successful staging of the X Games and the feedback from all the young visitors shows that we were right to bring this event to Munich and the Olympic Park." Huber was also particularly impressed by the unique atmosphere that reigned during the competitions, such as during the BMX and skateboarding competitions in the Olympic Ice Stadium or on the Big Air Ramp on the Olympic Lake.
In his summary, Huber also mentioned the excellent and constructive collaboration with ESPN, both during the preparation for and actual organisation of the event. "Certainly, the weather didn't do us any favours in the latter few days, and it was more difficult for us to organise some of the competitions. But I think we managed to keep the excitement about the event pretty high," says Huber.
