The summer festival delights around 360,000 visitors

25.08.2025 - Olympiapark München GmbH

For 24 days, the Olympic Park was once again a lively, diverse world of experiences: the summer festival delights a total of around 360,000 visitors. Under the patronage of Mayor Verena Dietl, the Olympic Park event offered a programme that left nothing to be desired.

These included highlights such as the themed weekends ‘Bavaria & Culture’, ‘Gaming & Kids’, ‘Self-made & Arts and Crafts’ and ‘Body & Mind’, Dachshund Day, the big fireworks display and the successful premiere of the ‘Treasure Hunt’ influencer flea market, as well as the daily offerings, the rides provided by Munich's Schausteller, the children's area, the stall street, the food stands and the ‘Bar du Soleil’. Especially for families spending the summer in the city, the summer festival offered an unparalleled programme of events over many days.

Reaching new heights – the Skylift in the Olympic Park
This new attraction now offers a unique view of the Olympic Park and Munich: the Skylift in front of the Olympic Action Sports Centre. With four gondolas, each seating up to 20 people, it takes you up to a height of 70 metres. There is also a special feature: on two gondolas, you can enjoy the ride on the roof of the cabins – on top and open air. Thanks to the innovative Paralift system, the gondolas move in a harmonious rhythm: two gondolas ascend, two descend. Anti-reflective panoramic windows provide a clear view of the surroundings. The cabins rotate during the ride, offering a wonderful 360-degree experience. What's more, all gondolas are accessible at ground level and can be easily accessed by wheelchair.

The Skylift will initially be set up in the Olympic Park until 7 September. After that, the tower will temporarily move to the Oktoberfest. It is scheduled to return to the park on 13 October, where it will offer a wonderful new perspective as an alternative viewing tower to the Olympic Tower, which is closed for renovation. The ride costs €10 for adults, €7 for children up to 1.30 metres tall, and is free for toddlers (0-3 years). The ‘On-Top Ticket’ for the gondola ride is available for €15. Opening hours are: Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Site closed for set-up and dismantling until 3 September
After the event is before the event: yesterday, Sunday, the summer festival came to an end, and this coming weekend, another unique festival is already on the programme at the Olympic Park: Superbloom. For safety reasons, Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Square is currently closed until 3 p.m. on 29 August for the dismantling and construction work for these events. From 3 p.m. on 29 August to 6 a.m. on 3 September, the entire park will be largely closed due to the Superbloom festival. Appropriate detours have been set up for pedestrians and cyclists.
