The time has come: the midsummer night's dream celebrates its 20th anniversary

17.07.2025 - Olympiapark München GmbH

On 19 July 2025, Munich's Olympic Park will shine for the 20th time in the splendour of the Summer Night's Dream. Over two decades, this open-air highlight has established itself as a fixed date in Munich's cultural calendar – a day that combines live music, urban art, culinary diversity and a breathtaking pyrotechnic show.

Category 1 tickets are already sold out, but category 2 tickets are still available for last-minute buyers.

Stars on two stages: From goosebumps to club vibes
Even before the sky above the Olympic Lake lights up in countless colours, top national and international acts create a festival atmosphere. On the main stage, Max Giesinger, Ásdís and Nico Laska accompany the audience through emotional pop moments and electronic vibes. The peninsula stage invites you to dance under the open sky with Altin Gün, Cosmica Bandida and Munich's HyTop Soundsystem – between psych folk, tropical psychedelia and pulsating house.

Art meets sound: urban art to help shape
An XXL installation surprises visitors in the middle of the festival grounds: artist duo Lando and Bert transform Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz into a walk-in portrait gallery of Max Giesinger. In addition, four other artists – Blauer Vogel Kollektiv, Paperboi, MAN.De and Cassie Tumlinson – offer individual photo spots for personal memories. The ‘sound container’, artistically designed by Marcela Gloria, becomes an acoustic retreat for anyone who wants to pause for a moment.

Traumbühne & Klangcontainer: From singer-songwriters to electro
Away from the big stages, music lovers will discover two special sound spaces with hand-picked acts from the local scene: The Dream Stage delights with a finely curated line-up ranging from singer-songwriter vibes to electronic sets – from the charismatic Sophie Romain to the beats of Tiduz and Matze Sampler to the atmospheric sound of Ybbs. The Klangcontainer offers an intimate stage for subtle live performances. Here, the profound sounds of Lucia Losada meet the electronic storytelling of Anj Music, complemented by exciting performances by Nica, Max Moody and Sarah Schatz. Two places – two worlds of sound that invite you to discover, pause and immerse yourself.

Anniversary fireworks display: 6,150 ignition lines, 170 effects, drone show
The grand finale is the anniversary fireworks display under the motto ‘Brilliant Reflections – The 20th Dream’. For the first time, a drone show will float above the Olympic Park during the Midsummer Night's Dream: 50 drones will form luminous patterns, which, together with thousands of fireworks, flames and light effects, will be perfectly staged to music. Over 6,150 ignition lines will light up the sky with 170 different pyrotechnic effects. The team from FOG fireworks + sfx GmbH is responsible for the staging for the first time, combining over 600 years of fireworks tradition with state-of-the-art show technology.

With around 50 pyrotechnic platforms on the Olympic Lake and Olympic Hill, a soundtrack of classics and current hits, and a unique backdrop, the 2025 Midsummer Night's Dream promises to be an unforgettable experience for all the senses.
