Eric Clapton

His unique career began in the early 1960s when, after dropping out of university, he joined numerous bands, including John Mayall and his Bluesbreakers, Blind Faith and Cream. Eric Clapton released his solo debut album in 1970 and came to the Olympiahalle for the first time in 1974 as part of his ‘461 Ocean Boulevard’ tour. The Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote at the time: ‘Clapton's shy nervousness gave way to a calm, reserved modesty, and he let his guitars sing the simple but beautiful melodies that had already shaped his style with Cream...’. 

In the 1990s, he made a real comeback with the magnificent live opus ‘Unplugged’, which became his most successful album with 26 million sales. Tirelessly, he released his 21st studio album, ‘Meanwhile’, in October 2024. With 18 Grammys and three inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the grand master of blues rock is going on tour again in 2026. In addition to old classics and new songs, fans can look forward to selected rarities. And more than half a century after his first appearance at the Olympic Hall, he will once again let his guitars sing beautiful melodies.
