Fontaines D.C.

Whilst studying music in the mid-2010s, singer Grian Chatten, guitarists Carlos O’Donnell and Conor Curly, bassist Conor Deegan and drummer Tom Coll met at the Dublin Music College – and, inspired by their shared love of poetry, initially published two collections of their own poetry. With their debut albums *Dogrel* (2019) and *A Hero’s Death* (2020), Fontaines D.C. entered the top ten of the UK charts. Their most successful album to date, *Skinty Fia*, even reached number 1 in the UK and Ireland in 2022. In Germany, too, the album – which primarily explored the band’s alienation from their Irish homeland – reached number 5.

Following “Romance”, Fontaines D.C. are now returning to Germany with their new album “Dopamine Chamber”. Working with producer James Ford (Depeche Mode, Arctic Monkeys), the band have created a work that straddles post-punk, art pop and new wave, in which their previously signature guitars take a back seat to a cool synth sound. Following their two previous Munich concerts at Backstage (2022) and Zenith (2024), the gig at the Olympic Hall will now be on an even grander scale.
