With over 80 million records sold, six Top Ten albums on the Billboard 200, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 – and long since a member of Spotify’s elite Billions Club. The hit single “I Want To Know What Love Is” alone has racked up nearly 1.5 billion streams. To mark the band’s 50th anniversary, the rock legends of Foreigner are going on tour and will be performing at the Olympic Hall with Europe as special guests.

The founding members – Mick Jones, Lou Gramm and Ian McDonald – celebrated their first major success in March 1977 with their debut album “Foreigner”. The album sold five million copies in the US alone and, as well as reaching number 5 in the charts, achieved five-time platinum status. The top-ten singles released from the album, such as “Feels Like the First Time” and “Cold As Ice”, became major hits.

With their fourth studio album “4”, the band also achieved a breakthrough in Europe in 1981, reaching number 4 in the German charts and number 5 in the UK. In the US, “4” spent ten weeks at the top of the charts, with songs like “Urgent” and “Jukebox Hero” becoming anthems of rock history. “Agent Provocateur” then reached number 1 in Germany and the UK in 1984, whilst the single “I Want To Know What Love Is” became the most successful song in the band’s history.

Having already kicked off their anniversary tour in 2026 with numerous open-air concerts, the band – in their current line-up featuring frontman, lead singer and guitarist Luis Carlos Maldonado – will continue the 50th Anniversary Tour in 2027. For their guest appearance at the Olympic Hall, Foreigner will be joined by Swedish hard rockers Europe, who will also be presenting their brand-new album.
