Her stage career began exactly five decades ago, when the then eight-year-old Janet attracted a lot of interest in 1974 with parodies of well-known stars such as Cher, Mae West and Marie Osmond. At the age of 16, she released her debut album entitled "Janet Jackson" in September 1982 - just two months before her older brother Michael Jackson released his epochal masterpiece "Thriller". The youngest child of the legendary Jackson siblings celebrated her first really big success four years later with her third album "Control", with which she stormed to number one in the US charts. Singles such as "What Have You Done for Me Lately", "Nasty" and "When I Think of You" also reached top positions in her home country and worldwide.
Janet Jackson last performed live in Germany in 2011, and her last appearance in the Olympic Hall was even longer ago - in May 1998, as part of her "Velvet Rope Tour". Now the wait is over, after the overwhelming success of her "Together Again" tour in North America, which opened in Hollywood in April 2023, the singer will continue her concert tour in Europe in the fall of 2024 - and will also perform in the Olympic Hall on October 5.
