He was also known as the Dogfather. Or the man for all seasons. In 1995, at the age of 25, Martin Rütter founded his first dog training school, the ‘Centre for People with Dogs’, after completing his studies in animal psychology. The ‘Dogs Oriented Guided System’ (D.O.G.S.) he developed became a Europe-wide benchmark for more than 150 dog training schools that work and train according to Rütter's methodology in numerous countries.
He gained popularity by hosting television shows such as ‘Der Hundeprofi’ (The Dog Professional), ‘Hund vs. Katze’ (Dog vs. Cat) and ‘Die Welpen kommen’ (The Puppies Are Coming). He also thrilled a large audience with his live shows – whether with programmes such as ‘Der tut nix’ (He Doesn't Do Anything) (2014), “nachSITZen” (Staying Behind) (2017) or ‘Der will nur spielen’ (He Just Wants to Play) (2025), with which he also made guest appearances at the Olympic Hall. After a good 30 years and, as he himself explains, more than 6,500 repaired human-dog relationships, many thousands of hours on television and five successful live tours, Martin Rütter is now going around the block one last time for a final treat. The fitting name of his tour, which is as always informative, brutally honest and, above all, extremely funny: ‘Schluss! Aus!’ (The end!) Then it's time to say goodbye.
