The success story of the band from Bietigheim-Bissingen in Swabia began three and a half decades ago. In 1990, PUR entered the album charts for the first time with ‘Unendlich mehr’ (Infinitely More), followed in 1995 by their epoch-making work ‘Abenteuerland’ (Adventure Land), which, with more than two million copies sold, remains one of the best-selling albums in German music history to this day. Since then, their nine other albums have also consistently ranked in the top 3 in Germany, with most of them reaching number 1. Songs such as ‘Ich lieb' Dich’ (I love you) and ‘Lena’ and many more became big hits.
To mark the 30th anniversary of Abenteuerland, PUR went on a major tour in 2025, the highlight of which was the sold-out open-air concert at the Arena AufSchalke. But as expected, the band led by frontman and figurehead Hartmut Engler is not letting up, with a new album scheduled for release in 2026, followed by another tour of Germany's major venues. ‘Our fans can look forward to a long evening with lots of hits and songs from a brand new album on the 2026 arena tour,’ says Hartmut Engler. ‘One thing is already certain: everyone will have a great time.’ There's no doubt about that when it comes to PUR concerts.
