He celebrated his 80th birthday in January - but that's no reason to retire. Quite the opposite. ‘I have no desire to retire,’ says Rod Stewart. ‘I love what I do and I do what I love. I'm fit, I have a full head of hair and I can run the 100 metres in 18 seconds.’ Good reasons to set off on another world tour of 40 cities in 2025, including a stopover at the legendary Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
On 7 December, Sir Rod (he was knighted by Prince William in 2016) will then come to the Olympic Hall - where he has played more than a dozen concerts over the past five decades. On his ‘One More Time’ tour, the old master of rock'n'roll will once again be bringing a potpourri of his greatest hits with him. From ‘Maggie May’, his first number 1 song in the UK in 1971, to the indestructible evergreen ‘Sailing’ and ‘Baby Jane’, his mega bestseller in the 1980s, as well as many other classics. For the future, Stewart has announced that he will continue to work on a Great American Songbook and will once again perform covers of jazz and swing songs in smaller clubs. That doesn't sound like retirement by any means.
