Parker's career began in Perth, Western Australia – in his parents' bedroom. There he played his first riffs on a guitar from the 1960s, and soon he was playing songs by his idol Jimmy Page. Kevin Parker enjoyed great success with his first band, Dee Dee Dumbs, with whom he won the Australian Campus Band Contest. After releasing a series of singles and EPs, Parker released his first album, ‘Innerspeaker’, with his project Tame Impala. The album climbed to number 4 in the charts in his home country, and Tame Impala won the ‘J Award’ music prize for Australian Album of the Year.
Parker repeated this success in 2012 with ‘Lonerism’. At the 2016 Brit Awards, Tame Impala won the award for Best International Band. With ‘The Slow Rush’, they made it into the top ten in Germany for the first time. Single releases such as ‘End of Summer’, ‘Loser’ and “Dracula” in 2025 were a foretaste of the latest album, ‘Deadbeat’, with which Tale Impala is now going on tour. As magnificent as their studio productions are, the true power of their music only unfolds live on stage. Fans can see for themselves on 16 April 2026 at the Olympic Hall.
