The Pussycat Dolls were founded in 1993 by music video choreographer Robin Antin. She came up with the idea in the very place where many great inventions have been conceived: a garage in California. Every Thursday, the Dolls performed at the Viper Room, Johnny Depp’s nightclub on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. The band soon became a major attraction in LA, with stars such as Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Gwen Stefani queuing up for guest appearances.
Over the years, following numerous line-up changes, a sextet formed around singer and frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger. In September 2005, the Pussycat Dolls released their debut album “PCD” and stormed into the Top Ten of the Billboard charts, as well as in the UK, Germany and many other countries. Singles such as “Don’t Cha”, “Stickwitu” and “Buttons” became bestsellers. Following their second successful album “Doll Domination” (2008), the band split up in the early 2010s, and a planned 2020 comeback tour also fell victim to the coronavirus pandemic. Now the Dolls are embarking on a major reunion tour with their current trio line-up of Scherzinger, Wyatt and Roberts. They will be joined by Lil’ Kim, one of the most successful female rappers in the history of hip hop.
