She was the very first. Even before all the other sites in the Olympic Park. The Olympic Ice Stadium was opened as early as 1967, before construction work for the 1972 Summer Olympics even began next door, and at a time when sports planes were still taking off and landing at the Oberwiesenfeld airfield located here.

The Olympic Ice Stadium became the venue for thrilling duels between the German national ice hockey team and top-class opponents such as Russia or Canada, Sweden or the Czech Republic, as well as the home of many of Munich's top ice hockey teams, from EHC 1970 to EC Hedos and the Munich Barons to EHC Red Bull Munich. The hall proved its multifunctionality not only as the venue for the 1972 Olympic boxing matches, but also with the one-year use of the FC Bayern basketball team between 2010 and 2011.

The Olympic Ice Sports Centre, which is also home to Munich's ice sports clubs, also offers a high recreational value with the public ice rink next to the hall for public skating and the adjacent indoor football arena SoccArena.

Note: You can purchase event tickets for public skating, disco evening skating and free skating on Mondays from 08:00 am in our web store or at 07:30 am at the ticket office on site for the current week.

On Sunday, 28 April 2024, it's time to get on the ice for the last time at the Olympic Ice Sports Centre. But of course, ice sports will continue in Munich's most beautiful park! With the opening, all programmes and training sessions will take place in the SAP-Garden.

Public skating

Our public skating is perfect for anyone who wants to have a great time on the ice, whether you are an experienced skater or a complete novice. Our ice rink is always well groomed and has space for you to skate your circles and have fun.

Our opening hours are designed to give everyone the opportunity to get out on the ice: Whether you prefer early in the morning before work or in the evening.

Special ice gliders for wheelchair users

The ice gliders are suitable for both children's and adult wheelchairs. The device is mounted under the wheelchair and can be pushed over the ice by an accompanying person. The ice gliders can be reserved free of charge at info@olympiapark.de

Public freestyle training

If you want to take your figure skating training to the next level, our free skate patch training is for you. We offer times to help you perfect your skills on the ice.

Please note that we do not offer coaching or training sessions. However, our special free skate patch training times offer a perfect opportunity to improve your figure skating skills while being guided by your coach.

Our aim is to provide a professional and safe environment for free skate training. We ensure that only skaters are on the ice with their coaches during the special times to ensure the best training experience.

Ice dance and Figure Skating for Adults

Our special times offer you the perfect opportunity to indulge your love of ice dancing and figure skating with music to match - whether you are an experienced skater or a beginner.

Our offer does not include a coach or training lessons. However, our dedicated ice dance and adult figure skating times provide a professional and safe environment for your training.
