Slalom Mystery on Olympic Mountain on 1 January 2014

The 16 best men and women in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Munich. Launch of advance tickets for the Munich parallel slalom in the Olympic Park. Their concentration is total, the adrenaline courses through their bodies. Right at the summit of the Olympic Mountain, 16 of the world's best skiers are buzzing around waiting for the off. And then come the words they've all been waiting for: "BLUE READY, RED READY, GO!" The discipline, the arena, the flood-lit atmosphere - all of this makes the parallel slalom in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in the Olympic Park on 1 January 2014 - for which tickets are now available - a truly exceptional, spectacular and exciting sporting event. The race in the Olympic Park is the ultimate motivator - at least for this year's winner Felix Neureuther, who in his last furious race beat Marcel Hirscher (Austria): "The major challenge in this slalom is giving 180 per cent in each of the eight laps." He continues: "Yes, the parallel slalom is different to an ordinary world cup race, but it's no less challenging. I also think it's important to bring our sport into the city. That's because it's only here that fans can come to the race by underground and really experience the excitement of Alpine skiing up close!" FIS President Gian Franco Kasper feels the same: "This year's race clearly showed that the format has earned respect and a firm place in the World Cup calendar. This is evidenced not only by our athletes' sporting achievements, but also most importantly by the warm welcome and excitement from the audiences." Today, twelve of the finest ladies and gentlemen from the Slalom World Cup and the first four from the overall World Cup heats will again be battling it out on the Olympic Mountain. They are: of course our local heroes Maria Höfl-Riesch, Viktoria Rebensburg and Fritz Dopfer, as well as international skiing stars such as André Myhrer (Sweden), Alexis Pinturault (France) or Ivica Kostelic (Croatia). All expectations are that the winner of this year's parallel slalom, Veronika Velez Zuzulova (Slovakia) will try to defend her title and beat skiing giants such as Tina Maze (Slovenia) or Michaela Kirchgasser (Austria). Of course, there will be an entertaining programme of events available for all ski fans around the World Cup race on the 1st of January 2014. From 3 p.m. onwards, the activity areas on the Sponsor Market will offer a wealth of fun and activity, BAYERN 3 will provide the right mood and tasty winter dishes will be available in the restaurant area to keep body and soul warm. The great news is that the admission prices for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in the Olympic Park will remain the same for the 2014 race. Early bookers can once again save money from the moment tickets go on sale until 31 December 2013! An adult ticket in advance of the World Cup will cost Euro 19 instead of 21, and children under 16, students, school pupils, pensioners, people with disabilities, trainees, people doing voluntary civil service and federal volunteers will pay Euro 11 instead of 13. There is also the Family Card (4 people, including at least 2 children under the age of 16, each further child Euro 5 / 7 Euro on the door) for Euro 50 (Euro 56 on the door) or the 4 friends and more ticket (from 4 people) at Euro 17 per person when purchased in advance (all tickets include VAT and all charges, plus any postage).
