20.08.2014 - Olympiapark München GmbH

On 22 and 23 August in front of the Olympic Stadium's north entrance. Bouldering has become a firm fixture in the Olympic Park. The Boulder World Cup has been held in the Olympic Stadium for four years, and from Thursday to Saturday, the Olympic Park will be hosting the World Championships of the international IFSC association. While the best athletes in the world will be battling it out for the title, scaling two climbing walls under the marquee roof (21/22 August admission free, tickets for the semi-final / final on 23 August Euro 11), (climbing) sports enthusiasts can enjoy a fantastic programme of supporting events. The Olympic Park's visitor service has acquired a new partner for this and put together a colourful programme of activities in the area near the north entrance to the Olympic Stadium. On Friday 22 August between 12 midday and 7 p.m. and on Saturday 23 August from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., almost all of the activities will be available for visitors to enjoy free of charge. The Munich Sports Department, for example, will be organising an outdoor triathlon. Entrants can demonstrate their skills in three disciplines: on a mountainbike parcours, a mobile high rope garden and archery. Other attractions include a boulder cube for children and a bouncy castle. The German Alpine Club has erected a seven-metre-high climbing tower as well as a service tent in which visitors can learn all about what the club has to offer. The Olympic Park meeting point partner adidas will be there with its outdoor test van, showcasing products and offering visitors the opportunity to try them out. One particular highlight will without doubt be the free taster tours on the Olympic Stadium's marquee roof! The tour guides will be taking their groups up onto the famous roof every hour. The tours are not as detailed as the normal marquee roof tours, but they're certainly an experience that whets the appetite for more! Interested individual can register for the tours at the Olympic Park's information stand by the north stadium box office. The regular tour programme offering a marquee roof tour with abseiling or a marquee roof tour with Flying Fox experience, stadium tours or a tour of the park can also be booked. Further information can be found at www.touren-olympiapark.de. During the Boulder World Cup, Sayaq Adventures is offering the Flying Fox experience at a special price. The flight from the edge of the marquee roof over towards the back straight will cost just Euro 32 instead of the usual Euro 37 for adults and children. Registrations for this unique "thrill" will open on Friday at the Sayaq stand in the Olympic Stadium and on Saturday at the Olympic Park stand at the north stadium box office. With the professionals on the climbing wall and the fantastic programme of supporting events in the Olympic Park, visitors can look forward to exciting times under, on and next to the marquee roof.
