Special tours to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the 1972 Olympic Games

On 26th August, the opening ceremony of the 20th Summer Olympic Games in 1972 in Munich celebrates its 45th anniversary. To mark this major coming-of-age, not only will the Olympic Tower be lit up on Saturday 26th August 2017, but Olympiapark München GmbH's visitor service will also be organising tours on this day under the heading "1927 Olympic Games". Visitors are able to walk on the roof of the Olympic stadium with the marquee roof tour. The marquee tours start at 14:30 and the twilight tour starts at 19:00. In addition to the explanations from the tour guides of the world-famous architecture, there will also - just like on all of the other tours on this day - be lots of interesting information about the 1972 Olympic Games. Anyone who wants an adrenaline kick of a very special kind needs to check out the marquee roof tour with Flying Fox descent. Start times for the marquee roof tour with Flying Fox are 10.00,10.30, 12.30, 16.00 or 18.00. The marquee tour with abseil is available as an alternative at 17:00. "All aboard!" are the words to listen out for on the Tour de Park at 14:00, when the journey through the history of the Olympiapark begins with a ride on the park's white and blue railway. A must for all sports fans are the stadium tours through the Olympic stadium's catacombs, which begin at 11:00, 13:00 and 16:00.
